At some point during the winter, weather conditions my require the closing of schools and/or buses to run earlier in the afternoon. The decision to call off classes or to run buses earlier is made by the Central Administration Office. Please do not call Prairie Rose to see if school will be releasing early. The district will send a taped phone message to your residence, using the AlertNOW system, announcing these situations. The announcement will also be broadcasted on the local radio stations: KDIX 1230 AM, KLTC 1460 AM, KCAD 99.1 FM, Z92.1 FM and the Mix 105.7 FM.
Please have your children dress appropriately for the weather conditions. Proper clothing includes a warm coat, mittens/gloves and a head covering.
Please note: if your child wants to play in the snow, snow pants and snow boats are required.
Peanuts or products containing peanuts are not allowed in the classroom. Due to the number of allergies and dietary restrictions that exist, we ask that if you bring treats for a birthday or other celebration, please purchase those treats so they contain an ingredient label.

Thank you for helping keep our children safe.
Prairie Rose Elementary encourages parents to become involved in school decisions and activities. PAC is an important committee used to share information and receive feedback about academics, events, programs, etc. PAC may also be leaders in special events within the school or may head up fundraising for special projects.
PAC meetings are held 12:00-1:00pm on the third Tuesday of each month at Prairie Rose Elementary. District PAC meetings are held Tuesday after the Board Meeting each month at noon.
